Connor, Bella and I went to the Wisconsin Humane Society Workshop Friday night. Got some hands-on time and some great ideas on working with Bella.
Kim Walters, our trainer, gave me some AWESOME tips on working with Bella. Like how to get her out of her kennel without her "dumping" all over everything. Lisa is a dog trainer who works with the Wisconsin Humane Society. She has her own website with lots of info including working with essential oils. Check out Lisa's website at: www.thepeacefulpaw.com.
Along with the Tellington T Touch touches, we learned about using a body wrap or a T-shirt to help our dogs think differently. To think about their whole body and not just what's in front of them. I've presently got Bella in a very stunning hand-me-down from Connor. It is a green T-shirt with some sort of Skate USA written across it and it is tied across her back. She doesn't seem not to like it. Perhaps it is keeping her warm. Although I have to say her hair is coming in quite nicely and it's very beautiful and oh, so soft. She is laying down on a pile of afgans that I bought at Vinney's (I seem to have quite the collection all the sudden- every time I go I find one of two more to bring home. But I just can't help myself. Somebody put a lot of time and LOVE into these blankets - who couldn't use more love, right? Though I have to say that the ladies at Vinney's think I am cuckoo for buying these blankets for my DOGS?!!)
Lisa and I also talked at length about essential oils and helping Bella heal using Lavender. I put a couple drops on my hands and began massaging and Ttouching Bella all over her body. From the top of her head to the tip of her tail. I left no hair unTtouched. She seems quite relaxed right now laying on her pile of love in her green hand-me-down T-shirt from her favorite boy.
I'd like to tell you that I had the same miraculous results that Claudeen had with Bella but alas I have not yet. I'm sure that we will get there eventually.
I have noticed that she has developed some food guarding issues too. Hmmm. Will have to address that sometime in the future.
She's also not a big fan of the camera. Not at all into the flash. That will come too. Chance wasn't either at first but eventually he came around. Even hammed it up a bit. Darn guy.
