Goin' for a Swim..Ummm Not So Much...

So we took the dogs for a niiiiiiiice long walk today and since they didn't get to swim in Fowler Lake because of all the pollen floating on the surface (blech) we went to our other favorite swimmy hole, Ashippun Lake. Which was also covered in the lovely pollen.

We discovered a more straight shot to get there as well. Take Hwy. 67 N to McMahon Rd., turn right on McMahon and follow it to the Ashippun Lake Access sign. Turn left and park.

We decided that since it was going to be such a nice day, it would be a good day to test out Chase's Labrador Half and see what he thinks of the water. Um...no.

Water is good to drink. That's where we draw the line. Furever Family you might want to try him out in a lake this summer. I know we won't have him that long.

The only time Chase did go in the lake was when Mocha was chasing him. She thought he had the ball, or maybe she didn't, she's getting a little cuckoo the older she gets (??). So she was chasing him all over the park and when they jumped on the wet metal pier, Chase discovered that stopping on a dime was not a possibility.

He just "plooped" right in as he slid face first into the drinkover the edge of the pier. It's not very deep right there so he was ok but he was rather startled. I guess until it gets really good and hot, he ain't goin' in.

Here's what happens when the dogs are messing around and somebody rolls it off the dock and it "ploops" into the lake. "If I could just reach a little further." After all that gymnastics she didn't even get the ball. Te'a raced in about a millisecond after the shutter closed on the camera and stole the ball. HEE HEE

I wonder if Catahoula Leopard dogs like to swim?

How does one pronounce 'catahoula'?

cat-a-hoola? I'm sure once it warm up-if it ever does, Chase will be in the water in a heartbeat!
