A-ha (insert light bulb here)

Fluffy Friends we've had a revelation!

We've been having some trouble with Chance going number two outside. Mainly he just diddles around. He sniffs, he walks, he pees on flippin' every stump in the yard but never...goes.

The few times he's been off leash (on purpose and not) he runs to "the spot" in the front yard, sniffs, does his thing like it was no big deal.

Turns out - he doesn't like an immediate audience. Who knew?

As you can tell, we're getting a little more relaxed with the leash too. He seems to be doing ok with that. He'll run around the front yard, play with the other dogs, find his spot and do his thing. If you squat down to get him to come to you after, he'll come barreling at you like a freight train. I'll try and get some video of this as it is quite hilarious, frightening, but hilarious.

We went for a long, long walk today. And as it is warmer, we let the doggies take a little dip in Fowler Lake. Those crazy labradors were in like they hadn't seen water in months. Ok - technically they haven't, as it was ice on previous trips. We had Mama Mia Pizza Eater too and as soon as those big doggies were in the lake, she was too. (Don't tell Mark and Judy - it'll just be our little secret.) She was mostly dry by the time I took her home anyway.

Chance. Chance is NOT a labrador. Chance is not even a "lab~set~retriever" like Mama Mia. Chance is NOT a water dog. He saw Mocha dash into the water and paddle around like a fool. He saw Te'a dash into the water and chase the tennis ball. He saw Mama Mia too! She didn't get real far because she was still on the extendo leash, but she dashed full on.

He went to dash into the water and stopped!! when the water got to his ankles. He came back out, looked at me and said, "Seriously? What is wrong with them? I frankly fail to find the frivolity in the froth." ( Love alliteration much?)
We hung out there for a little while and the whole time he looked at the water and then back at me with his eyebrows knitted and shaking his fluffy little head.

I'm throwing in a couple pictures from this weekend. I rearranged the furniture and Chancey Shandy discovered the couch. It was there all along. I'm not so sure what made it so special all of the sudden. But here he is laying on it - kind of curled in like he belongs there - sorry about that furever family - did you put in your application yet?

Not his ear on the left - just a toy they destroyed!!
