Dizzy from the Heat

Living two days in Wisconsin in January without heat really makes me appreciate it when there is heat. Today I have off and I am enjoying the toasty temperatures in the house. Toasty because we have a set-back thermostat that in the thick of things got mixed up. So it set the normal temp to 60 and the nighttime to 50-something. Whoo. When Scott got up it he cranked the heat to 70. A temp a little warmer than we're used to around here.

Even our pal Chance was thinkin' it was hot, like Waco hot. (Not to be confused with Africa hot for you Matthew Broderick fans.) He was walkin' around the house with his tongue all hangin' out. His fur is growing in from his "super-cut" before he left Texas so I think that he's getting a little more used to the cooler temps.
For those of you who may not have seen him since his shave days...here's how our boy's fur is coming in. He is truly a Fluffy Dog.
Some of Chance's cooler markings...I love the color of his eyes. I also think it is so cool how the fur around his eyes is light but the skin is dark. Gives him kind of piercing look - makes the whites of his eyes really stand out when he's glaring at you!
This is by far the coolest marking I have seen on a dog. I don't know how many of you are horticulturally inclined but this blob looks like a Banyan Tree. Just got to turn your head to the left a little to see it. (Look how thick his fur is getting!!)

Ok - one more picture. His tail had been wagging at one point. Although, I think the point he was making here was..."Seriously, enough with the camera already."

Also, a quick update....It has been a week since he tried to eat anybody. Which is to say that he hasn't growled or snapped over food at my dogs AT ALL. They all got new bones yesterday when the furnace guy was here and they keep playing musical bones with them (and continue to play) without any growling.

It has also been one week since he last had any sort of accident in house. He was puffing and panting by the front door this morning. He went out and took care of number one. Then we went around to the backyard to take care of number two. Although, he needs to be directed sometimes to focus on his job.

Just like the rest of us here at Grade Lodge.

Thanks for reading!

Well is you look at the mark the other way, it sort of resembles a tugboat.....

I knew our boy would get the hang of things with his pals. Good boy Chance!

I had to go back and look at the tree picture. Is that tree on Maui per chance? Did it tell you when you downloaded? I think it is and we were there!

Sure wish I was there now...
