Well, I hopped up out of bed, snapped a leash on that boy and out we went. No sooner was he outside but he accomplished two...well...you know..numbers one AND two.
I'm not saying that Jack wasn't housetrained. I'm just saying that Jack wasn't exactly consistent and there were some mystery (and some not so mystery) treasures left in particularly Jack places...like,...um... under Jack.

Maybe not the Best. Day. Ever. But I've got to tell you the best day so far. I think the best day for Jack ever will be the day he gets to go home with his furever family. Kind of like being a "real" boy (Pinochiccio) or a "real" bunny (the Velveteen Rabbit.)
Another dog who needs her furever family is Midnight. She was on one of the very first blogs I posted here. She was born here in Wisconsin, is almost a year old and is the last of her litter to find a home. Always save the best for last.
I have sent an email to her foster mom to see if she can send me some info about Midnight so I can post it here. I have a pic of Midnight with my son but I'm hoping to have more pics from her and some "inside scoop" kind of stuff to share with you. I do know that she is housetrained, is good with other dogs and the foster mom is working and succeeding with hand signals to train her to sit and lay down.

A lot of people have mentioned to me that they feel the adoption price is pretty steep for a rescue dog. I understand. What with Christmas coming and our Recession (or so they say) in full bloom. But I guess from my perspective, an adoptive family is getting so much more for their adoption costs. You have saved a life! By the time you bring home your dog from Fluffy Dog Rescue, he/she will have been neutered, de-bugged (fleas, ticks & worms), loved, acclimated to life in a home (vaccuums, stairs), generally trained (come, sit, stay, lay down)(although in Midnight's case, she's teaching hand signals - SO COOL) and YA TA DA TAAAAAAAAA - HOUSETRAINED. You don' t get that from the mall puppies or any puppies for that matter.
I've also found that most people who do fostering, whether it is for Fluffy Dog or one of the other wonderful rescues, the foster parents have at least one, or in my case, two dogs, a couple of cats and who knows what other creatures-you know, like kids. So you will know immediately if your perspective new family member gets along well with other four leggeds or smallish two leggeds.
Kudos to you for thinking of adopting from a rescue!

Sounds like you guys have been busy fostering. I'm glad it's going good and that Jack is becoming a "big boy"!
me too! thx for checking in :)
Mia sez "browrrrowerz" translating into: "Good job Jack!" She also said "brof, woof, yip" meaning of course "You should have pizza to celebrate! Ask Tea to help you!"
