Holiday Fun & A Surprise Visitor

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. We took the majority of the pack camping. Jim didnt want to go. He said he didnt like all the dirt and sleeping outside. We went to Blue Mounds State Park near Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. A short 90 minute trip from our home.

My brother and his family shared our campsite and brought their dogs along too. Cooper is one of their dogs and Alyx was trying really hard to get him to play. When he finally relented, she got a little freaked out and ran to hide under the picnic table.

All in all, Alyx had a great time. When it was bedtime, she was like a two year old baby. She raced around inside the tent and jumped on the air mattresses. If I didnt lay down with her, she wouldnt be still. Normally, I dont coddle them quite so much but she was soooo tired and wouldnt go to sleep on her own. She would just wander around the campsite looking sleepy. You'll see the picture in the group; eventually she got tired enough and crashed.

I'm camping!!

Helping with the table cloth.

This is Alyx with Alex or is it the other way around??

Tired tired puppy

Cute cute puppy.

Yesterday afternoon I received an email from the family who adopted Miss (Hilda) Macy. Were we going to be home Monday night??

Why yes!

She stopped by so that the girls could play a bit and see each other.

They were a little awkward at first and Alyx was a little possessive of her people. But after a gentle reminder that "we share here", she was fine and the two pups played like they'd never been separated.

Alyx has the green collar and Macy has the red.

For those of you keeping track, there are just two puppies left for adoption - Alyx and Niko. I hope nobody wants Alyx. She's kinda fun to have around.

The family sent this picture last night of Miss Macy sacked out on the couch. That was pretty much status quo for the lot of them.

Stay cool out there kiddies, its going to be another humid scorcher.

Thank you for thinking rescue. Thank you for reading!
