A Murphie Update

Miss Murphie has been here at The Lodge for about three and a half days and hello people. If you are looking for the perfect dog. Um, she's here.

Ok, first, she's a very poodly Labradoodle. Her coat is very very curly and very very soft. She is a bit overdue for a trim, I might add. I'm pretty sure her eyes are brown but they're hidden under a lot of curls. Oh, and I should probably mention that she doesnt shed. Nope.

She is housetrained. After working through the training process with Wink and Annie, it's nice to have one that I can be a little more relaxed with.

She is great with my dogs. From what I understand she was in doggy daycare so she's pretty sociable with other dogs.

She is crate trained and goes in nicely when I leave for work or when we go to bed. I hate crating them at night when they've been in there all day but ... it seems she wants to eat our cats. The cats get really funny about that ~ go figure. The best way for everybody to get some sleep is to kennel her at night. If you dont have cats, you wont need to kennel her at night.

She has not destroyed anything. She has taken to carrying around toys or her babies but that's cool.

She has an incredible personality. She is soo soo sweet and such a clown. She is very bouncy and wants to be with me.

Here's the rub. She was abused somewhere in a past life. She's very very leary of men; teenage boys are kind of terrifying too. But we're working on that. She didnt bark or growl at Connor or Scott this morning while everybody was getting ready for their day. She didnt bark at Connor after school when he went to let her out of her kennel but he did say she was a little leary to come out of her kennel.

She has warmed up quite well all things considered. Poor thing had her life turned completely upside down this weekend but we're working on righting everything. She gets a bit edgy when she hears someone coming down the stairs but again, this will take time and she'll be fine.

She also needs a bit of leash work. She tends to pull a bit but with practice that will be ok too.

We've not been to the dog park as it's closed because of crummy conditions but I'm sure she would do well there.

She does get to go for car rides and she's learning what "back seat" means. She comes to school when I drop Kiera off in the morning.

All I have to say is, seriously, you havent put your app in yet?? She's gonna go quick.
