WARNING: BUBBLES IS A HIGH ENERGY DOG

BUBBLES IS NOT A DOG FOR THE FIRST TIMER OR THE LAZY PERSON. SHE IS VERY VERY HIGH ENERGY AND SHE WILL NEED AT LEAST TWO 45 MINUTE HEART POUNDING RUNS - EVERY DAY. SHE WILL NEED A FENCED YARD, THE BIGGER,THE BETTER.

This bears repeating so...

Here's the deal - Bubbles-Ali is just over a year old. She has been adopted once and returned because the family didn't realize what they were in for. She is a very very very high energy dog. Ask anybody who sees us at the dog park. In the five weeks she's been here at The Lodge, she's come a long ways, really she has. Daily runs around and around and around the dog park have helped her calm the psychosis that is this young English Setter.

While at the dog park these days, she checks in more and more frequently and will even come find me when she's hot and had enough.

Once we arrive home, for the most part, she will curl up on one of the four dog beds, or a chair or couch and sleep. After that its sleep for a few hours, follow me around the house if I'm wandering around folding laundry or whatever miscellaneous mundane chore. Then, she wrestles and rolls and runs around the house with our other foster, Wynne-Fiona, who will be going home later this week. This goes on all night. Until the sun goes down. And then, she crashes. Until the next morning when we get up and do it all again.

So you see, my goal is to find the best possible fit for this dog. She loves to chase birds and has and will take every opportunity to run and do so. She slipped away on my husband the other. After five weeks, he thought that he had gotten her figured out. Twenty five minutes later we were talking with some nice people who live about three quarters of a mile from us. She took advantage of his relaxed attitude and slipped away on him.

Bubbles-Ali needs a family who is able to meet the commitment of two (or more) extra high energy cardio programs a day. If you are unable to do that, you're not a bad person, you're not a bad pet owner, you're just not the right fit for this one year old, highly energetic dog. Ideally, I would like to see her go to family who has a fenced in yard but its not a requirement.

It has been suggested that perhaps if one adopted her, they would give her access, via a doggy door, to the fenced back yard. This is certainly an option buuuuut, here's the rub. She likes to chase birds. When she sees birds, she gets into this crazy frenzied activity and yips and barks and carries on like a coyote. Unless you live out in the country and your nearest neighbor is a mile away, I don't think they would appreciate that.

I hate to be all gloom and doom but I tell you what. I'd rather have you know up front what she needs, and know what to expect rather than go through the process only to have you be discouraged/frustrated by her behavior and have you return her to me. She is an amazing creature and she's too special to be bounced around that much.

She is the sweetest little girl and since she's been here, she's been really letting her sweet side show more and more.

This morning I received a call on my cell phone. My cell doesnt work in my house so I had to go out on the front porch to talk. Bubbles-Ali came out with me. I sat down on the bench and she jumped up on my lap and begged for attention and some pets. That is until she heard the chipmunks and then we were done having quality time.  The other night, we had a pretty bad thunderstorm and I'm pretty sure Bubbles-Ali knew it was coming.

She crawled into bed with Scott and spent the entire night on our bed.

I know that the family is out there, somewhere for Bubbles-Ali, they just arent ready yet. Afterall, look at Wynne-Fiona. She came to Wisconsin at the end of September last year as a puppy and she's finally getting to go to her furever home tomorrow. I'll post more info plus her NOOGIE on Saturday!

One more time on the Bubbles-Ali thing: BUBBLES IS NOT A DOG FOR THE FIRST TIMER OR THE LAZY PERSON. SHE IS VERY VERY HIGH ENERGY AND SHE WILL NEED AT LEAST TWO 45 MINUTE HEART POUNDING RUNS - EVERY DAY. SHE WILL NEED A FENCED YARD, THE BIGGER,THE BETTER.

That is all. Time for lunch.

Thank you for Reading. Thank you for thinking Rescue.
