Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhaved ...

I wanted to go hiking today. I wanted to drive to Starved Rock State Park and see the formations AND maybe hook up with Fuzz-Trooper now Cooper but ...

Kiera had a project she procrastinated finishing. Connor tried to help and upload it to a flash drive so she could work on it in the car while we drove the state park (in IL) to go hiking today. Yeah, he didnt really save it. Yeah, we turned around and came home.

Needless to say, I was pretty ticked. When we got home, I stomped around all grumpy-like while Scott tried to cheer me up. When I suggested that perhaps it might be safer for him to go out and give Lucky-Jimmy Dog a trim, he was on board.

When I got outside, this is what I found...

Oh, that's a lot of hair.

I tried to get a few shots of his new do but he was more intent on chasing around the yard and looking for "chippies". Here are a few action shots for you of Lucky-Jimmy Dog running around The Lodge.

Do you see the doodle in this picture?

How 'bout now?

Here chippie chippie

Have you seen the chipmunks?

He is such a gorgeous boy. He has such a sweet goofy personality and just a huge love of a dog. Yes, he is special needs and he will require an additional $100/month in medical expenses in addition to monthly heartworm medicine. We're working on a program now that will hopefully eliminate the shot but will however, still require daily supplements. If you are familiar with Standard Process, we are using a few of their products to boost up Lucky-Jimmy Dog.

Also, he's gotten much better about the cats at The Lodge. He is no longer chasing them like they were indoor squirrels, much to the relief of the indoor squirrels ... er... cats. He is completely housetrained and is was trained on an underground fence system. We have a similar system here and it's working like a dream!

Furever Family, there's really no rush. We all really like him here. Connor told me he wants to keep this one. He's the perfect blend of Lab and Poodle. Er ... yes, he does shed but not as bad as the rest of the Lab "pupulation" here at The Lodge.

There's lots of airplanes flying around overhead as part of the Memorial Day Celebration. Please take a moment to say a little thanks to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives and families in the past and present so we could have freedom. Please put aside political insanities for the day and recognize the folks who are really making it happen. Thank You.

Thank You for Reading. Thank You for thinking Rescue!
