Double Doggie Duty

Well, Fans, I didn't think I would but I decided I could do it again.  Once again The Lodge has a pair of foster dogs.

In the first position, we have Carter.  Friend of Missy, who went home last week. He's an adorable black labbie mix who would be the IDEAL, the Quintessential, the Ultimate Perfect First Dog.  He's house trained, comes when called and is just about the sweetest thing on four legs.  His coat has grown back in so thick and full.  If not for a few little spots on his ears and one on his leg (?) you'd never know he had mange.  His tail is coming back too.  He's growing "feathers" on the back of it.  He's really shaping up to be a gorgeous little boy.  I think, but again, just my personal opinion, that he's part black lab and golden retriever.  I don't know how many of you are long time readers but he is again, the perfect first doggie the way that our pal, Chasey was last year (?).

Secondly,we have Kringle.  The gorgeous little Yorkshire Terrier Mix boy who was found on Christmas morning wandering around.  He was somebody's little boy.  He's got a haircut that's about a month old.  He has very nice manners and will be quite the cuddler when he figures out what is going on.  He's a bit, ok, he's A LOT confused right now.  After all, he had this nice house, I'm hoping, with somebody who loved him a lot and who he loved.  He's a bit of a runner/dasher so I'm sure he bolted out of his house at full speed and by the time he stopped running, he was too far from home. Picked up by some nice people and taken to animal control.  Whoa, this ain't my house.  He's then popped into a crate and driven "up north" where we all talk in flat Yankee vowels and there is no grass.  Everytime we are outside, he runs to the front of the house and looks.  He jumps in the car like he's been doing it all his life.  And he really wants to go home, if only to go where somebody understands him.  Somebody who speaks "pampered little dog" not big, drooly labrador.

So there you go readers, double doggie duty!  I have no pix yet but they're on their way!

I love reading your blogs. They make me laugh and at times cry. We'll have to meet up at the dog park sometime.
