Carter Comes to The Lodge!

Wow!  What a weekend!  Saturday we participated in a transport that brought more Missouri Dogs to Wisconsin and Minnesota to find loving homes.  What a great experience!!

The other transporters on either side of our leg were just ordinary men and women who want to help.  The couple ahead of us has this amazing full sized van, equipped with several kennels to hold dogs.  Wow.  The couple after us got to take five teenie doggies, who were all in the same crate, up to the Appleton Area.  Just amazing.

The greatest part of this transport was that we received a dog as well.  If you remember Missy was running wild in Missouri with a black labbie boy.  I am happy to say that the black labbie boy, Carter, is no longer at Animal Control, awaiting his fate, but here, in Wisconsin, at The Lodge.

He is a gorgeous boy.  He's on the smaller lab side at 55# but still a good sized doggie.  He has a very sweet temperment and is oh, so, cuddly.  It amazes me that these two creatures, left to fend for themselves, thrown out by humanity, would still have hearts big enough for love.  But these two dogs, Missy and Carter, are two of the most loving and cuddly dogs you'd ever want to meet.  Carter has been in everyone's lap a lot since his arrival.  Missy, not to be outdone, is on him, on your lap.

So, you're probably wondering if they remembered each other.  Hmm?

Well, wonder no more.  When we brought Carter home, we took Missy out first to meet him.  Of course I took a video of it.  Go ahead and watch it, but grab a tissue or two cuz'... well, just trust me and do it.  After you watch, two or ten times, scroll down to the next blog post, because I have more pix and more adventures!

Thanks for reading!  Thank you for thinking rescue!
