Videos of Chance.....

AAAAAh - Egads! Chance got out yesterday afternoon and was gone for several hours but all is well. We got him back but not before somebody shot some video footage and put it on YouTube....watch this....

Ok - no, it's not really him. Chance was safe and sound here at Grade Lodge herding shoes...and boots...and crocs...and toys...and shoes...and slippers....and cats....and....and....and.... I do have a video of Chance, Mocha and Te'a from our walk this morning in the snow and wind. I figured it warmed up to 14 degrees we'd be good to go. Not so much....The wind picked up and the snow began to swirl....Hot diggity dog...Whatever happened to January thaw?

So, while the video loads down below I should probably tell you that we haven't really gotten that housetraining thing under control yet. He has discovered my "cat chair" in the living room and has decided to make it his own - that chair is soooooooo going out today. It is a gorgeous tan chair with different colored brown circles all over it. I thought it was cool. I bought it second hand from a girl who was moving out of state. She claimed she didn't have a cat. Yeah, it had cat hair under the cushion! Hmmmm....well, I no sooner got the chair in the house and my cats went BANANAS on it. It is shredded and ripped down to the frame in several places and now smells like dog pee! Here are a couple pics of my chair - we are keeping the boy:

We are also still having an issue with the pooping in the snow thing. Scott was the lucky recipient of the "Oh Cr*p" award this morning. At least this one wasn't on the carpet.... But at the same time, he did pace less when he did it while we were walking. The pace thing? Oh, he does this pacing back and forth thing before he actually selects the spot to make his...er...deposit. The thing is is that he doesn't actually select a spot, he's waited so long to "deposit" that the stuff is shooting out whether he's selected a spot or not. Then he kind of dances around while depositing - messy? You betcha! Especially if a foot gets involved.

I did a google search on helping dogs cope with going on the snow and it said that you should praise them when they go in the right place and offer treats as well. Seriously? The treat thing seems kind of counter productive, if you ask me. Besides, he was waaay into the field and I would have had to plow thru some snow banks to get to him. I just congratulated him from the street! Good Boy!

It's time to turn the computer over to Scott as he is dishwasher hunting today! Yeah - ours has been dying a slow death for a while and it finally washed it's last dish. The prospect of hand washing dishes does sooooooooo not appeal to me. My poor grandmothers' are rolling over in their graves.

Before I go, here is a real video of the dogs from this morning. I love to watch this dog run. He is solid and strong...oh....and he's wearing socks (at least they are tan and blue - could have been worse...)

Thank you again for thinking rescue. There are so many great dogs that need loving homes. Thanks too for reading the blog. Please bookmark it and pass it along to all your dog loving friends.

PS - Just found out from Lori that Chance is still heartworm positive. There will be NO dogpark running just yet. Which is ok because it is so FREAKING COLD!!

That is all.
