Tidbits

Ok - so... the run down at The Lodge stands like this today.  Lucky-Jimmy has been here since late Spring - friends, he needs to go to his furever home. Cant help more until he goes home. Of course it has to be the right fit for both parties, the family and Lucky Jimmy but he needs his own home. He is the perfect dog. Sweet housetrained and good with all people. Yes, he is high energy and will need daily hard exercise but you will be rewarded with a 73# lap dog. Yes, he does need daily medicine, prednisone to be exact. He had been receiving monthly shots of percortan but until she exhibits signs of having an Addisson's Flare up and crashing, I will not administer the shot. Honestly, I think that once he gets in a home with stability and daily exercise to burn off his energy, he will be fine and will not need his monthly shots. But he will need the prednisone and I would keep the percortan handy ... just in case. Lucky Jim is also trained on an underground fence which is wonderful for him. He can run through the yard as he pleases

Next is Alex-Riggs. He is an eight month old Golden Retriever/Sheltie Mix. Maybe. He's darn cute and fluffy if you ask me. He's had some hard knocks in life and he's shyer for it. He is better with me after having been here for eight weeks and I'm sure time will just improve that. He is housetrained. He is coming out of his shell more and more and more. So much so that we need to crack down on him staying in the yard as he's been straying across the street and also into our backyard neighbor's yards as well. An easy fix. He loves to be outside and running around at the dog park is perfect for him. He's smallish, maybe 35 - 40# and I dont think  he'll get too much bigger, but I've been wrong before. Hi to JT.

Also here is Italy- Pippy, but if you've seen today's earlier posting, you know she wont be here much longer. I'm hoping that her furever family reads this and is able to come meet her and take her home today, Saturday, as tomorrow is a bit busy for us. I have to go outside and plant bulbs so call my cell.

And yes, the fourth foster we have here, although, I think until Italy Pippy leaves its only temporary, is Lincoln. He is a beagle / doxy mix and is quite the character. He's such a sweet sweet boy and he too has been in rescue, er... pretty much since he was born on May 4th of this year. I'm not sure if he's housetrained or not but that's trainable. Honestly, if I were in a position to keep him, uh... he would be a foster failure for sure. He's cuddly and sweet. I've only ever had Labradors (permanently) but I like the personality of the beagle. They are equally sweet but they can be a little more stubborn.

So that's it. That's the run down on the crew here at The Lodge. Now is the time to act, before the snow flies. Easier to housetrain a dog in the leaves than the white fluffy stuff. Not to mention its a little warmer as well.

Hope to talk to some of you soon! The sooner everybody goes home, the sooner, we can start helping new pups from Southern States.

Thank you for thinking rescue. Thank you for reading!
