Yup, You Guessed It, Back to the Dogpark.

Gotta keep this train on the track. Bella does so well at the dogpark and everyday she gets minimally better in the house.

Today however, I had an experience that I should have...ah...planned ahead for. Last Friday and last Saturday when we went to the dog park, the dogs had been walk prior to getting in the car. All dogs did all things...dog, while we were walking.

This morning, I slept in and did not walk the dogs. That was a mistake.

I put Bella in the car and immediately she knew where we were going. Except we had to stop at school first. As I pulled away from the curb and out onto the street, Bella assumed the position on the back seat. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

I pulled around the corner and parked my car. Luckily, luckily and much to the chagrin of everybody who rides with me, I keep my seats covered with old blankets and such. I scooped up the offense and bunched the blanket to cover it.

Whew, ok now we're on our way to the park, right?

Wrong!!!!

As I pulled out onto Oakwood Avenue she AGAIN assumed the position. Seriously??

This time she walked in it. And then she walked on my front seat. So I pull onto one of the little sidestreets right behind a woman who was desparately trying to convince her Wheaten Terrier to get in the car. It wasn't going well for her either. She asked if I would let my dog out to see if her dog would come to mine. Mocha jumped at the chance. A game of race and chase ensued and still her dog would not come. In the meantime, I cleaned up best I could and stood there.

Do I go home and clean the seat or do I go to the park? I drove to Nashotah with the windows down.

Te'a started to cry as soon as we hit Highway C. Bella was on Te'a's lap when we turned into the drive. As we drove through the little "check stand" Bella made a dive for the dashboard.

Um, No.

I saw the lady behind me in my rearview laughing at me. She'd really have been laughing if she knew how the inside of my car smelled.

As I parked, the noise level was getting louder and louder in the car. I opened the door to get out and Te'a jumped out leaving a .... well, I'm pretty sure you can figure that out. I let her and Mocha into the park and went back for Bella. She's getting better at coming out of the car, especially when she knows where we are.

I took her off the leash and she tore around like a crazy maniac. When she realized I was on the outside of the fence she was even more crazed. After I cleaned up Te'a's treasure, I went in to join them.

People came and went and new people came. A woman came and brought her gigantic Old English Mix named Murray. Very handsome boy - can't wait 'til Bella has long hair. She said that he was a rescue too and that she'd had him for three years. She also said that...he was a potted plant in the house. Which in their case was probably a good thing as he was sooo huge.

So there you have it. I guess I should be thankful that Bella does as well as she does in the house. I kind of hoping that she would be more of a Velcro dog by now but I guess I'll be patient and wait. Sigh. She is kind of Velcro in the car when she knows we're going to the dog park.
