No Dog Yet...But Soon....

So you all know that Alabama Jack went on to his furever home over the weekend. We received a really nice email from Jack and his new family to say that all is going well and that Jack and Rowdy were getting along wonderfully. I guess I really didn't miss him too much until I got the email. I'm so happy for him, for all of them!

Since I am currently without foster dog and today is my day off, I should be using my time wisely - Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

So I mentioned a few blogs back that we have these fish that need a home. Well, they still NEED A HOME. I shot a little video earlier and...well...there is this great movie making program on my computer and well...I kind of married the video to a song from our audio library.

The fish are call Ciclids. This is the general term for this variety of fish. You know like Labradors. Well, labradors come in several colors - black, brown, yellow, etc....and so do Ciclids. The type of fish that these Minnows? Small Fry? Baby Fish are are called Convicts. The will be the littlest fish in the video. They are about an inch or so long and have black vertical stripes - you guessed it, they look like "convict" uniforms and they are seemingly very easy to breed and rather prolific little guys.

We started out with probably 200 babies that were smaller than the number 200. Through the days and the weeks, even under the watchful eye of the Dad, that number was reduced to where we are today - which is roughly 18 although there may be less as time goes by as more and more get munched. As they grow they will be about 3 - 5" long - maybe more I guess if they are in a bigger tank. The dad is in this video and he is the very large black striped fish. The mom is smaller with a little bit of red on her cheek.

Ok, so without further adieu (rats, and I was a French minor in college, did I spell that right?), Ok, so without further hesitation - here we go....

Ok - so I have as the boys from Styx say..."too much time on my hands....". I probably should have warned you that the background music was Da Yoopers - Ya Hey Dere - I could have used another song from them....perhaps another blog....hmmmm

Have a great day - Just try and get that song out of your head...sing it "wit" me..."Twenty Yoopers in a Pontoon Boat fishin' for Moby Dick. Da wife she t'inks I'm workin', Da Boss 'e t'inks I'm sick...It's a perfect day for fishin', drinkin' beer and tellin' lies. It's a little bit like heaven when you're fishin' with the guys...."

Oh, and as always, thank you for reading, bookmark this blog and pass it on.
