I am Snow Queen and I have (mostly) Conquered the Driveway

For those of you who thought I was just another one of those women who just sits around watching Martha Stewart and creating crafts all day...I'd like to brag about my latest accomplishment.

We got roughly 13" of snow last night into this morning. Scott left for work and left me home with his brand new SNOW KING (echo, echo, echo). He's used it three times since he picked up last week. I have nowhere to go today but if I did I have to get out of the driveway. Heck, I have to get out of the garage.

So I moved my car over, horsed the SNOW KING (echo, echo, echo) to a spot where I could read the starting directions and reached for my cell phone.

Scott gave me some directions to start it and I was on my way. Mostly. It was making this rough putt-putt sound and smoking and I really didn't think that was right. So my neighbor came over and evaluated the SNOW KING (echo, echo, echo).

"(think Tim -the-toolman-Taylor) Grunt grunt, Tecumseh engine, Ahrien's, grunt grunt, ok, key ignition, primer, ok" Ok maybe it wasn't quite like this but he got it it running smooooothly for me. After moving forward and blowing the snow into the garage (whoops) I was on my way.

Up and down the driveway. Round and round on the top. This is hard work. And I think I blew the grass at the end of the driveway into our neighbor's yard across the street. Fertilizer for next year. I even got brave and went across the street and gave it to my neighbor's wife to try. It was almost as much fun as driving a boat. Sadly she didn't feel the same exhiliration as I. Oh, well, I blew out the end of their driveway.

Technically I really didn't blow it out, so much. I just blew the snow around and made more work for them. I experimented with the little snow chute. Aiming it High, Aiming it Low. Haven't quite gotten the knack of when to spin, and which direction to spin the handle. Whoops - not into the wind - should have worn ski goggles.

So here are some pics of my labor this morning. Down the driveway looks ok.

The top of the driveway....yeah, not so much. I had to leave something for Scott to do. I mean after all it is his SNOW KING (echo, echo, echo).

I brought the dogs outside after I finished with the SNOW KING (echo, echo, echo). They enjoy playing in the deep snow and it really wears them out. I heard Jack chewing on a bone down the hall and after a few "gnaws" he Konked out on his little doggie bed (that I made - I can be like Martha) and was out cold.

So there you have it. I am now completely exhausted. I'm pretty sure I need a nap. No, no, no applause, just send me new arms.
