After a week of living at The Lodge, I figured I should probably change Amelia's Petfinder Bio.
She has started out life rather roughly, pregnant with 37 other dogs at a home in Alabama. Her bio references that she "is probably one of the most well adjusted of the hoarder dogs we are receiving. Very sweet and calm. She is not attached to other dogs, but is very much so to people. She would do better in a quieter home. She would do awesome with an older couple or person. she would not be good as a playmate for another dog. "
I would have to agree with the fact that she is sweet and calm. However, I will disagree that she would not be a good playmate. The past week has really brought Amelia out of her shell. She is very sweet and she does love people. She would make a good therapy dog and her eyes reflect peace and understanding. She is still however a young dog. She loves our one on one walks around the neighborhood to get her used to all things normal. Our trips to the dog park start out with her trotting along at my side with her looking up at me frequently and smiling as if to say, "this is the greatest. Thanks for bringing me."
Then she runs off and place race and chase with the other dogs. Ah, yes, the other dogs. She is a younger dog, no, not a pup or a naughty teenager but she is a well behaved dog. She does LOVE to wrestle and carry on with the rest of the crew here at The Lodge. I keep trying to get video for you but by the time I think of it, get up, grab my camera, they're all behind me wondering if they're going to get a treat. Aww, come on.
Seymour-Boris is a great little fellow too. He's a young young boy who is a bit shy at first. This morning at the park he got to meet some new friends. He wasnt so sure about Reese as she is quite a bit larger than he but after a while, and after some barking and carrying on, yikes, they were all running around like long lost buddies.
Both dogs are super cuddly. Both are housetrained, tho, you've got to get Seymour Boris out. He is a young boy and you need to pay attention to him. Both are super super cuddly and love love love Mama time and cuddles.
Oh, hold on, Amelia and Seymour are wrestling like maniacs in the chair and now the three of them, they've decided to include Denali are playing Indy 500 through my house. Seriously? We spent an hour running and racing at the dog park and now this? In the house??
Ok, so either dog would be a good companion for a dog you currently have or they would do well on their own.
Ack, I have to go. Too loud, I cant think!
