Just a little note...

Everyone here seems to be settling in to a nice happy.  Kringle Carlos is really making great strides in getting along with both the kitties and the other boys at The Lodge.  We've got some bugs to work out with his travelling tho.

I thought we were making headway with keeping him in the yard, and we really are.  The combo of the training collar and the long leash are working well.  Yesterday we went to the dog park and in the chaos of getting everybody in the car he slipped away on me.  Slipped isn't quite the word.  Tore like a bat outta hell is more like it.  Thankfully, he was wearing the training collar and I was able to break his focus of bailing on the park and into the arms of another park patron, Mary.  He was about a hundred yards from Highway C when I managed to stop him.

Thank you Mary for picking him up and holding him until I got there.  Everybody was very scared and we spent the rest of the afternoon cuddling.

Kringle Carlos will definitely need a lot of love and attention in the "stay-in-the-yard" training department but he is worth it.  He is very sweet and cuddly.  He is housetrained and knows his manners.  That is, he has a "soft mouth" and wont eat your fingers if you feed him something.  Plus, he sits when you tell him.  Just have to work on not bolting out the door and recall when he's moving that fast.

Siddy is growing into a beautiful young man.  He loves the dog park also and howls with the big doggies when we turn into the driveway.  Aaargh and Shhhhhhhhhhh.  His housetraining is coming along better everyday.  Its the humans that need to be more alert to him.  Like when he gets up from a nap.  If he doesnt get out within a couple ten minutes of getting up, you're gonna have to clean up.

He settles down very nicely after a forty-five minute trip to the dog park and is presently out cold on the couch between Te'a and Mocha.  His legs are getting longer and eek, his feet are getting bigger.  He's about five months old now so I don't think he's going to be gargantuan by any means but he's not done growing.

As he was a stray, noone really knows how old he is.  He may be older than the five months or he may be younger.  He lost a couple of teeth last weekend so four and a half to five months sounds about right.

Carter is still the perfect perfect perfect dog.  He is so so sweet and cuddly.  Any places on his body that had mange and were "nekkid" have looong since grown back in and his coat is so full, soft and thick.  He is perfectly housetrained. He needs to work on sit but he also has a very soft mouth when you feed him.  He does need a walk everyday but we all do so there you go.  He gets along great with everybody at the dog park.  Actually, if you could, just disregard this posting.  I'd like to keep him for me.  Wink Wink.

If you haven't yet met them at one of the local dog parks, please come to meet them.  We will be at Central Bark in Sussex tomorrow morning from 10 - 12.  Bring your dog!!  I will be bringing: Carter, Kringle-Carlos and Siddy and maybe Kiera and Scott. The address is:
