The Perfect Day!

Wow! What a great dog day! Scott and Connor made their way to Mayfair to meet pick up our newest foster - Shandy...Chauncy...Chancey...Chance?

OH-MI-GOSH PEOPLE!! Ladies and Gentlemen and Children of All Ages Prepare to fall in love with this doggie! He is gorgeous!! Don't worry, I haven't replaced Jack in my heart (more on that later) but this doggie is so gorgeous. His pictures, on the website, do not do him justice. He has the most B-E-A-utiful ambery colored eyes which I'm sure noone would be able to see if his hair were longer. He's kind of a dirty white color with grey splotches all over. The splotches are very easy to see as his hair on his body is only about an inch long.
He's laying in in here now with his feet out behind him like a frog - too cute!! Wanna see some pictures??
Just look at his eye color - gorgeous! Don't worry, there's a matching one on the other side...

Here he is getting caught sneaking upstairs...Busted Buddy...

In the short time he's been here, we've already noticed how submissive and willing to please this little doggie is. Ok - and little is not exactly a word I would use to describe him. I'd say he's about 60 to 65 pounds and he could still use a little more weight, but he is pretty solid none-the-less. He's a little taller than Te'a but his body is not as long. I'm sure when his hair grows back he'll look like he's 80#.

He is very, very strong and we will need to work diligently on some leash manners. I took him for a very short walk today but that's all he's allowed (short walks) until the end of the month. He's recovering from a bout of heartworm - yelch. He needs to be kept still until we're sure the buggies are gone or...well...just google it. Too horrid to print here.

Here's a pic of the big splotch. He's wearing a party hat and not really liking it....

And now the party...We celebrated Te'a & Jack's bark-day with a little cake and some treasures we found at The Doggy Bag downtown Cooney (here is the link to their website: http://www.thedoggybagllc.com/.)

I made a bark-day pie for all canine attendees which they gobbled up in short order. The cat cookies and the sandwich cookies came from The Doggy Bag. There are carob chips on the pie too - yum yum.

Since we don't know when Jack's birthday is we invited him and his family out and celebrated with them too! When Jack saw me he jumped in my arms and gave me a full body hug and...dental cleaning...mmm...thanks for that, Jack. It was so great to see him. He is so happy with Greg, Ellie and Rowdy. We will have other cute and gorgeous doggies with ambery eyes but Jack will always be our first...

Here is our "Fluffy Cleaner" with his "Smooth Operator"

Here's Jack tearing thru the snow - of course, it's Jack, it's blurry...that's his bro Rowdy behind him.

Jack and Rowdy weren't the only guests at the "Bark-Day Paw-ty", our friend Mia, the lab-set-retriever came along too and brought her family. Here's a pic of Mia, Te'a and Mo wanting a piece of human cake - well of course we had cake - it was a party you know....

So that's all I know for now. As the days progress and we get to know our new boy a little bit better, I'll pass it along to you.

Woof, woof woof, woof, burf, woof woof!

(that of course was Mia saying she had a wonderful time at the party and she wants the doggie cake recipe)

Was good to see Jack and meet Rowdy.

Chance is a sweetie and did so well just getting off the bus and all, but I don't see him weighing that much.... but you're the dog expert-and Wonder Baker! (and all out-affectionately of course!-Loon!)
